Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 game features a modified version of the new Fox Engine. It was released on September 19 in Europe, September 20 in United Kingdom, and on November 14 in Japan. The playable demo became available on September 11 for download. Once again, the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup competitions are fully licensed in the game, and the First Playable UEFA Europa League without entering Master League, Become a Legend, and/or League. Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 was officially announced by Konami on March 10, 2013. It was developed with six key elements meant to define the physics and the features of the game. PES 2014 centers everything on the ball: how it moves, and how players use it. Physics of the ball, stature of the player, speed and height of the pass are taken into account to recreate the most realistic football experience on a home system. Players are an important part of the game with Motion Animation Stability System (M.A.S.S.),increasing the realism of physical contacts between players, tackles and decisions taken on the pitch by the AI to have more open games. The audience has an influence on the performance of the team. On the pitch, the performance of an individual player, good or bad, will also have an effect on the team, giving them a moral boost if he has a moment of individual brilliance; or forcing his teammates to support him if he is not doing well. Introduced in PES 2013, the Player ID system recreated faithfully the movements and skills of about 50 star players. In PES 2014, that number is increased and will also apply to complete squads to replicate a team's playing style. With the new Combination Plan, users will be able set up a variety of different tactics in key areas of the pitch using three or more players. These players will make very different runs to exploit holes in the defense or midfield, using the flanks, curved runs, or overlapping play to make themselves available.

A sad day

I was saddened early this morning as I got the news about Scott Murphy's mom passing away. She was such a great woman raising the most noble man I know in my life. They were lucky to have each other in her final years. One would think we the kids take care of our parents as they grow older. But no, our parents take care of us even as they grow old. We learn how to love more and more and become better individuals in this life.

No illnesses, no diseases. May you live in an eternal healthful happy place with those you love.

Set in a post-apocalyptic future, Armored Core 3 depicts a world where mankind has begun to live underneath the Earth's surface after a catastrophic global nuclear war broke out on the surface. Many players were confused with the nature of Armored Core 3's storyline in relation to previous AC games. At the end of Another Age, the AC world appeared to be getting back on its feet after the conflicts of the subterranean era (Armored Core, Project Phantasma, Master of Arena) and the Mars crisis (Armored Core 2). However, when Armored Core 3 begins mankind is back in a subterranean city hiding from the effects of a catastrophic global nuclear war.


Two prominent theories have arisen to explain away this discrepancy. Either the game is set in the same world as the previous games and the world experienced a second "Great Destruction", or Armored Core 3 reboots the series' storyline and starts all over again from a similar starting point as the original Armored Core. The latter appears to be true.

Two different timelines were mentioned in the Armored Core 10 works complete file,[1] one of which refers to original Armored Core and continues up to the end of Armored Core 2: Another Age. The other timeline starts with Armored Core 3, ending in Armored Core: Last Raven. The roots of Armored Core 3 began with the humanity taking refuge in underground cities after a large scale disaster occurred on the planet's surface. Centuries after that great destruction, corporations such as Mirage and Crest were established. They paved the way for the development of the first MT prototype, the XMT-01, which soon led to the development of ACs and other MTs.

Sketching a 3x3 Tactical Tug-of-War microgame

This summer I'm trying to get into the habit of running 5k each weekday morning, then sketching some ideas over breakfast. The running is the easy part to keep up, but the sketching has been a little more difficult. But today I've got a little notion that popped while I was stewing over Battleline, Pixel Tactics, and Gwent.

I'm imagining this as an 18-card microgame with a pick-and-pass drafting setup. With only 18 cards for two players, I think it would be easy to memorize each card, thus making "advanced" play much more accessible to newcomers.

There are three ropes, represented by three columns with a flag at the center of each. The goal is to win at least two out of three flags. Each player has their own 3x3 field in which to play one card per space. Each player simultaneously chooses the space into which they will play by placing a card face-down in that space. Then each player simultaneously reveals their card. Whoever has the highest total strength in a column at the end of the game will win that column's flag.

A standard unit has a strength noted on the top left and a suit on the top right. When you play cards to the field, they're always oriented so these stats are on the top of the card from your perspective. Many units also have adjacency bonuses. In this case, this guy gives +1 to the unit on his left, +4 to the unit to the right, and +2 to the unit behind.

This Ogre's strength is based on how many Hearts are in this same column. It has a heart itself, so it's at least worth 2 strength to start.

This wizard gives a +3 bonus to the two cards ahead of him. Note that if he is placed in the middle or front row, he'd actually be giving this bonus to enemy units.

Though there are only three columns, I wonder about allowing players to play along the periphery. The strength of that outside unit wouldn't contribute to winning a flag, but its adjacency bonus may still be valuable for the row or column. Perhaps it's a cheering crowd?

Anyhoo, that's all I had over breakfast. Maybe it'll turn into something cool?

Production Notes
Each Trickster set is a standalone game, but with the option to mix-and-match heroes from different sets, so it was a challenge to figure out how to best present the rules. Do I make a completely standalone video for each set, even if it meant repeating the entirety of the rules each time? That seemed inconvenient.

I decided instead to make use of the tools available on YouTube to turn the whole thing into a playlist. The first video goes over the evergreen basics of the game then links to shorter videos that detail the hero effects from each individual set. I hope this strikes the right balance between drawing in newcomers, but still scaling for each new set that gets added to the series.

When I first started producing this video, I was going to use a more traditional real-camera, real-hands setup but I found it very restrictive. I needed to show things in HD at a nice pace with few noticeable seams between edits. So I took a crash course in Adobe Premiere and to learn the basics of animation and audio editing. Having experience with iMovie, Flash, and other Adobe products, I found the transition pretty easy! These came together in about a week and future videos should be easier now that I've established a template.

Many many thanks to the volunteers who looked at early versions of these videos privately. I couldn't have made these as tightly edited and informative without your input. Thanks! Now I wonder about making more animated graphic tutorial videos for board games. I couldn't compete with some of the skilled teachers out there who work on-camera, but I could definitely see it becoming a fun little hobby.

Naruto Shippuden Kizuna Drive is the fourth instalment of the Uzumaki Chronicles series. Like its prequel, it was released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). The theme song for the game is Life Goes On by Junko Takeuchi.

The gameplay retains many of the elements from the previous game. One of the new features is the ability to fight alongside three other allies during levels. Players can assign various scrolls to characters for increase of health, chakra and attack power. In addition, they can equip various ninja tools and techniques for the characters to use. The techniques include long-lasting effects, such as Lee's Eight Gates and Karin's Mind's Eye of the Kagura. The feature to have three allies with you allows the performance of "team attacks", which include the four standing in a square formation and knocking the enemy around and finishing with each performing one of their techniques, resulting in an explosion.

The player can call any of the three allied characters to perform a technique on their enemy, resulting in the gaining of Kizuna Points. The higher the amount of Kizuna Points when the mission is finished, the higher the rank you receive on it. Kizuna Points can also be used to revive fallen allies and, if the player falls, an ally will immediately go to revive them if there is enough Kizuna Points. Kizuna Points can also be gained by performing team attacks.

The game goes by its own unique story that takes place immediately after the Akatsuki Suppression Mission, and it begins the Itachi Pursuit Mission. It tells the story of Yumegakure, originally nothing more than the hidden village of a tiny country. It became known for its control of a massive guardian beast, called the Three-Heads. That power made it superior even to the five great nations. It formed a pact of peace with Konohagakure, and the two became allies. That alliance has kept balance among the nations, keeping each in check.

However, one night someone who appears to be Naruto Uzumaki is seen moving along the rooftops of the village with a sinister smile on his face. As he places a tag on his face, the power of the Nine-Tails is released and he completely transforms. The Nine-Tails then fires a huge blast of chakra directly at the village, resulting in an enormous explosion that destroys most of the village and sets it ablaze. Itachi Uchiha is then seen observing the burning village as the villagers run in panic. Higher up, two shinobi, Yomito and Taisa are seen with their sorrow for their village, but a kunoichi, named Ryuka, encourages the three of them to go fight it. They are, however, stopped by the village chief, Enzo, who states they could not possibly defeat it. As he expresses anger that Konoha has betrayed them, a man, named Gensui, looms over the burning village and confronts the beast. As it fires another immense chakra blast, Gensui sends out a storm of sealing tags to counter the blast. He then rushes at the beast with a massive explosive tag as it prepares to fire another blast and the scene fades white with Gensui having supposedly perished.
